Lying on the northern part of luzon is the beautiful
province of Ilocos Sur. A province rich with heritage and culture as modernity
continues to prosper. Locals are rich in traditions as these cultures and
province's treasures are being exposed during the celebration of Kannawidan
Festival.
This celebration lasts from last week of January up to first
week of February. This festivity plays a significant role to the Ilocos
Province as it is this time where in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and
Pangasinan garnered independence.
The festival kicked-off through a Holy Mass con celebrated at
St. Paul Cathedral and procession afterwards. The same day also highlighted the
dancing fountain and a grand fireworks and drone display which made people
thought of new year again.
Different activities were also highlighted.
