“Whenever I see girls and boys selling lanterns on the
streets….” You know it is Christmas when you hear Jose Marie Chan’s songs.
It is important for us to bear in our minds the true reason
for celebrating the Christmas season. Children today misinterpret the true essence
or meaning of Christmas. That when you say “Christmas,” their response would
most probably Santa Claus. This partake should already be corrected as early as
now, for as we all know, Christmas is celebrated to adore the birth of Jesus
Christ.
Celebrating Christmas is not about a house fu full of
Christmas lights, having a tall and beautiful Christmas tree full of gifts
underneath it and giving expensive gifts. It is not about the material things,
it is about showing your appreciation to our loved ones and forgiveness among
others.
The essence of Christmas is simply showing love. And with
love, you already know what I mean.
“Whichever of these are important to you this holiday
season, just remember that it’s the thought that counts and that love is the most important thing in the world.”
